Honestly one of the best things we did in Langkawi. You cruise through the Kilim Geoforest on a boat, gliding through narrow canals with mangrove trees arching over you on both sides — it's peaceful and beautiful. The tour covers a lot — eagle watching, the Bat Cave (thousands of bats hanging from the ceiling, very cool), a Floating Fish Farm where you can see stingrays and giant groupers up close, and a monkey zone where long-tailed macaques roam freely along the river banks. The eagles soaring overhead are something else — massive birds and you get really close. Guides are generally knowledgeable and the whole thing moves at a relaxed pace. Takes about 2 to 4 hours depending on your package. If you're travelling in a group, go private — it's worth the little extra and you get to spend more time at spots you enjoy. Don't overthink it, just book it.

Kilim Geoforest Park Itinerary 2026: What Happens on the Day
1. Easy Booking (No Form, No Deposit, No Stress)
Booking this mangrove tour is very easy. You don’t need to fill any forms or make online payments. All the info is already on the website, but to confirm, you just WhatsApp Mr. Fadhil, tell him your date and group size, and he locks it in under five minutes. No deposit for small groups. No stress at all. If you need hotel transfer or a private guide, just ask him. He’ll recommend what works best. Simple, human, fast.
2. Arriving at the Jetty (Clear Instructions, No Confusion)
On the tour day, head straight to Kilim Geoforest Park Jetty. Parking is free. Fadhil will send clear directions on WhatsApp, so you just follow—no guessing, no getting lost. When you arrive, go to Checkpoint No. 3 and show your WhatsApp booking. Because you booked in advance, you get a better price than walk-in and you skip the long queue. More savings, less waiting.
3. Payment & Registration (Many Payment Methods)
Payment is made at the counter by cash, card, bank transfer or e-wallet. There’s even an ATM machine if you need it. After registration, go to the waiting area. Usually you only wait 5–10 minutes because boats take turns to dock.
4. Meet Your Boatman (Friendly Local Captain)
When your boat arrives, the boatman will welcome you. They’re friendly, can speak English, and they know the mangrove like the back of their hand. The boatman is not just the captain—he’s also your guide. He’ll share stories, explain each spot, and make sure everything runs safely. Just relax and follow his lead.
5. Tour Route Depends on Your Package
The route depends on which package you choose. The basic package explores the main area of Kilim Geoforest Park, including the iconic mangrove river and limestone formations. If you choose an upgraded package (B or C), the tour goes further out with more hidden spots and beautiful views that most tourists never see. More package = more adventure.
6. Bat Cave (Gua Kelawar) Experience
One of the first places you can step off the boat is Bat Cave (Gua Kelawar). The entrance fee is just RM2 per person, and you can rent a torchlight because it’s dark inside. You’ll see bats hanging and sleeping above you. It’s a short walk through the cave and very interesting. Outside the cave and at the jetty, the monkeys are wild. Don’t feed or provoke them here: once one gets food, the whole troop comes, and they love to grab bags and food. Monkey feeding is done at a separate stop on the way to the Rhu river, from the boat. You’ll spend around 10–15 minutes here. The boatman waits nearby until you return.
7. Floating Restaurant & Fish Farm
Next, you will stop at the floating restaurant, which is connected to a fish farm. You can watch the fish show and even feed the fish yourself. The seafood here is live and fresh—fish, prawns, crab, lobster. You choose, they weigh it, and the price per 100g is clearly displayed. No hidden charges. All food is halal friendly, and vegetarian meals are available. Food is pay on your own because the restaurant and boat operator are different companies. We bring you here because it’s a unique experience in Langkawi. If you don’t want to eat, no problem—after the fish show, just go back to the boat.
8. Stunning Scenery All Around You
Throughout the ride, the scenery is incredible. Mangrove trees, limestone cliffs, calm water, fresh breeze—it’s very relaxing. Even if you join 10 times, you won’t get bored. In 2025, Langkawi was voted the 2nd most beautiful island in the world. Enough said.
9. Eagle Watching (Still Amazing)
You will also enjoy eagle watching. In the past, boatmen used to feed the eagles, but now feeding is limited to protect nature. Most of the time, we just watch them fly and hunt naturally in the sky. Trust me—still amazing to see up close.
10. Monkey Encounters (Cute but Spicy)
You might also see monkeys along the river. If you’re brave, you can let them come near the boat or even give them water. Just don’t make them angry—they look cute, but they can be spicy.
11. Extra Spots in Package B & C (More Adventure)
If you book Package B or C, the tour goes even further to Tanjung Rhu, Dangli Island, Pasir Panjang Beach, and Tanjung Cherita. These places are quieter, more private, and unbelievably beautiful compared to the basic route. You get access to areas that most tourists never see.
12. Relax, Swim or Picnic (Pure Nature, No Buildings)
You can swim, relax, or even have a small picnic at these beautiful beaches. Feel free to bring a mat or snacks if you want. There are no shops and no buildings because the area is kept natural to protect the environment. Just pure tropical paradise.
13. Important: Toilets Only at Jetty & Restaurant
There are no toilets during the tour, except at the floating restaurant and the jetty. This is because the beaches and mangrove areas are untouched to protect the ecosystem. So it’s better to use the toilet before the tour or during the restaurant stop.
14. Snorkeling & Fish Feeding at Dangli Island
If your package includes Dangli Island, you can snorkel, swim, or feed the fish. The water is clear and the fish will come close to you. Bring some bread or biscuits if you want to feed them. It’s a fun and simple experience.
15. Flexible Timing (No Rush, We Follow Your Pace)

Is there a child price?
Children under 2 years old join the sharing tour for free. Private boats are priced per boat, not per person.
Can you pick us up from our hotel?
Yes. A two-way private transfer between your hotel and Kilim Jetty starts from RM200 for a sedan, RM250 for an MPV and RM300 for a van. Tell us your hotel when you book on WhatsApp.
Is the mangrove tour suitable for kids and elderly?
Yes. This tour is very family-friendly and safe for all ages, including young children and senior citizens.
Does the boat have a roof?
Yes, the boat is covered on top to protect you from sun and light rain.
However, if it rains heavily, it’s similar to being in a car without a front windscreen (only the roof is covered). See photos above for reference.

Is the price the same as walk-in?
No. Walk-in rates are higher.

What happens if it rains?
Rain is normal in Langkawi and the tour can continue safely.
We only postpone if there is a storm or thunderstorm.
You can reschedule to another time or day—just inform us.

What is the best time to join the tour?
It depends on preference, but morning trips after 9 AM usually feel the freshest and calmest.
Is it hot on the boat?
Not at all. You won’t even sweat.
When the boat moves, the mangrove breeze is cool and the views are relaxing.
How about insurance and safety?
We recommend having personal travel insurance when traveling.
To operate on the water, all our boats and captains follow Marine Department regulations and are regularly monitored for safety.
Is there storage for bags or luggage?
Sorry, there is no storage available.
We advise not to bring luggage to the jetty.
Personal belongings are the guest’s own responsibility.
